DAYTONA BEACH, Florida − A local Republican party official and the reigning Miss United States − has accusedRep. Cory Mills, R-Florida, of harassing her and threateningto release sex videosfrom their time together, according to published reports. Lindsey Langston, a Republican state committeewoman, filed a restraining order against Mills, Drop Site News and Politico reported on August 5. Mills denies the allegations. Melania Trump made rare White House appearance to sign it According to reports byDrop Site News,Blaze Mediaand other outlets, Langston has alleged the following: Mills, 45, began datingLindsey Langston, who turns 26 this month, in November 2021 and she later moved into his Florida rental residence. She stayed until Feb. 20, when she learned he had another partner. The relationship came to light when she called authorities withan assault allegationin Washington, D.C. Mills wasn't charged in the matter. Langston broke up with Mills and moved out, the reports state. Mills continued to contact Langston against her wishes, Drop Site reported, and she made a police report alleging Mills threatened to have her stripped of her Miss United States crown and even threatened "to release nude images and videos" of her engaging in sex acts with Mills. Mills sent messages to Langston threatening any men she might date. Langston made an initial complaint to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, where she lives in Lake City, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement later got involved. Mills has not been charged. Langston filed for a restraining order against Mills, Drop Site reported. Langston claimed Mills − whose finances are part of aHouse Ethics Committee probeand who until recently faced eviction from hisD.C. luxury penthouse− would have people bring cash to the home. Mills provided a statementto Politicodenying Langston's allegations. "These claims are false and misrepresent the nature of my interactions. I have always conducted myself with integrity, both personally and in service to Florida's 7th District," Mills told Politico.
